| This cemetery was across the street from where I was
born and raised. When I was a child it was called simply, "the old
cemetery." Since then, I understand it is called by both of the
names above. Though ill-kempt and often overgrown, it was richer in history and interest then. It has since been vandalized and many of the tombstones, markers, iron fences and crypts are gone. I took the first photo below when I was a young man (circa 1965). Those below it were taken in January, 2005. |
