I made this quilt for our bee challenge. We each agreed to take a 12" antique red and green tulip vase block and adapt it as we saw fit. I had pieced the baskets several years earlier intending to add an appliquéd vine. So, I killed 2 birds with 1 stone. I included 6 tulips in the vine and I completed a UFO ! Traditional pieced blocks with appliqué from our Tulip Challenge, Based on a block in an 1853 quilt made by Serena Tucker and adapted by Sue Garman. Hand appliquéd and machine pieced by Jerrianne Evans Machine quilted by Jo Lynn O'Neil Blocks pieced in 2006 |
