In June 2009 I went to Fort Davis to visit a friend who picked me up in Midland.  We spent the following day driving to and around Big Bend and finally spent a couple of days driving to Houston on US Highway 90.  Before the I-10 Highway, US-90 was the route to/from that side of Texas.
